A medieval knight on horseback bids a chivalric farewell to his lady in this lovely Victorian illustration of 1846 by Daniel Maclise and T. Landseer.
The original black-and-white engraving is long out of copyright and in the public domain. I've remixed it with a modern twist by digitally hand-painting it, which took me around 8-10 hours.
And to complement the enchanting imagery, I've incorporated a quotation from the beautiful 1894 poem An Old Saying by Algernon Charles Swinburne: "Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm."
This pretty print is perfect for the 21st-century lover of 19th-century art and poetry. It would look wonderful on the wall of a neo-Victorian parlor, romantic boudoir, or steampunk study.
