The colors in these earrings remind me of high desert in winter--snow on sagebrush. Even the inside rim of the ceramic gear links makes me think of desert rocks. It's a gingerbread brown with a nubbly stoneware-like texture, like the rough surface of a sun-baked boulder. I've combined the ceramic links with handmade lampwork spacers in sandstone, and sterling silver--hand-forged earwires and headpins (by me), and Karen Hill Tribes beadcaps.
Each gear link measures about 7/8" across, and the entire earring is about 1 and 1/2" long, top to bottom.
