This journal is the eleventh in a series of original print covers on luscious Lokta paper (from Nepal). On this particular cover I used a linocut of a door with a view of tree and mountain - carved in November 2011. The entirety of the front and back cover were first covered with a light blue Lokta paper. I printed the door onto a piece brown Lokta paper and tore the door out before affixing it to the front cover. The door is framed by light bright green Lokta paper. The tree and mountain were printed on darker green Lokta paper. The text at the bottom reads "How you see the world depends" and is affixed to blue and green Lokta paper. The pages are hand-cut, rounded corners, with hand-dyed blue bookbinders thread. The Coptic style of stitch allows the book to open up flat, which is fantastic for writing and sketching!
