I used a combination of simple beading stitches to create this bracelet, adding rows of right angle weave from either side of the cubed center. The three single colored sections give this bracelet a bold look, and resembles a watch band. The transparent red and brown beads pick up lots of light, and provide a beautiful contrast to the turquoise. The cube beads have a dual-tone finish with a speckled surface. The beadwork closes with a beaded button and loop clasp in matching colors.
Dimensions: The bracelet is 19 cm (7.5 inches) long, including the clasp. The beadwork is 2.2 cm (0.9 inches) wide at the turquoise center, and 1.7 cm (0.7 inches) wide at the red and brown bands. When the clasp is secured, the bracelet has an inside circumference of about 18 cm (7 inches). The beaded button measures 1.8 cm (0.7 inches) across.
Materials used in this bracelet include high quality Japanese glass seed beads and cube beads, and a Czech pressed glass druk bead. I weave all of my jewelry with durable fused nylon thread, which provides lasting strength and consistent beadwork shapes.
I love the contrast of turquoise and bright red. With the addition of rich leathery brown, it's a perfect Western palette. I chose the chunky color blocked pattern to allow these gorgeous colors to stand out and accentuate the beautiful contrast.
This one of a kind bracelet comes wrapped in tissue, packed securely with clean, repurposed bubble wrap or foam sheet, and shipped in a durable Canada Post cushion mailer.
