A snail is “allways at home” wax seal necklace... hand stamped from a Victorian fob seal, dating back to 1837 - 1901, this wonderful seal depicts a cute snail, poking its head from its shell, under the words “allways at home.” What a wonderful sentiment that can be interpreted in so many ways! In heraldry, the snail symbolizes deliberation and perseverance.

I created this necklace charm by hand stamping an antique fob seal, or charm, into fine silver. The charm measures approximately 1/2" by 5/8" and has been oxidized to highlight the details. It is threaded onto a delicate 16" sterling silver chain with a spring ring clasp.

Inspired by history... old world charm made wearable!
