Included are a pair of CR1220 batteries. The batteries ship out to you reversed in their plastic housing to preserve the battery life by preventing accidental drainage. Simply flip the batteries over and slide the housing shut to enable the LED to produce light. When the headpiece becomes dim, the batteries should be changed to keep the headpiece bright. I recommend purchasing another pair of batteries at Radio Shack and tuck them in your purse to help keep you sparkling all night long.
The fiber optics ship at 14" long but if you prefer to clip them, it's easily done with scissors. Just be sure to clip at a 45° angle (not bluntly) for maximum lighting at the tips. BE SURE to remove this item from your head before cutting!
