After a quiet memorial to celebrate their long lives infusing delicate flavor to wines for years, they are dried and wrapped in a shroud for their last trip to the great unknown.
Ready for your home cremation, just soak them in water for 15-30 minutes prior to grilling.
Sorry, I just cant keep a straight face while I am writing this....
Each box holds 5 pounds of wine soaked oak for you to try. The boxes are very creatively printed as a coffin and has D.I.P (Drink In Peace) on the front and "Wine to die for" on the side.
The boxes are 100% recycled paper. The flavor from the wine soaked oak is unbelievable when cooking and really does infuse wine and oak flavor into your food.
To use: Just soak them for around 15 minutes to an hour or so before you need them. We have a coffee can by the BBQ and when we start the fire, we throw them in the can with a little water to soak while the fire gets going.
If you have a gas grill, many have smoker trays built in or make your own. Take a piece of tinfoil and make a packet (we make ours the size of a hot dog bun to give you an idea of size) and load the sticks and water into the foil. When ready, we use a fork and punch several holes on the top of the packet and just put it on the grill right next to the food. It smokes up wonderfully!
For charcoal or wood BBQ's, just throw them directly on the fire as you start cooking. Directions are included in each box.
For gifts, if you want a card included with a handwritten note, I will happily include it. Just add a message of what you would like written on the checkout page.
Besides being my neighbors, Graveyard Winery has amazing wines and they are a really fun bunch of folks. If you are in the area, definitely stop by as they have an amazing tasting room and beautiful views.
