A vintage 1980's dress in mostly gray with black, red, turquoise and white stripes has been appliqued with my own octopus design. The octopus is made of alphabet print cotton with big black buttons for eyes and a machine stitched mouth. Before sewing it to the dress, the octopus was heat bonded on for clean lines and extra durability. Machine wash inside out on cold, tumble dry low. The original fiber content tag is missing, but this is a lightweight, rayon-ish fabric. That said it's still probably a poly blend. The dress is a pullover style with no zipper or button closures. The dress has slightly puffy sleeves and an elastic waistband. It is approximately a US size 6, but I have taken the following measurements:
chest- 34" (it measures just a little bigger, but I am saying 34' due to this being a pull-over)
shoulder- 14"
sleeve length- 23.5" from shoulder seam
waist- relaxed the elastic measures 24", but it will stretch comfortably to about 30"
hip- up to 44"
length from shoulder to waist- 18"
length from waist to hem- 25.5"
One of a kind. Fabric does not provide stretch.
