Each Whskr doll is embellished in a different way, maybe with with beads, vintage sequins, repurposed lace elements and special charms, so you will never find two dolls dressed the same way. For this brooch, I went is a totally new direction - I added a moulded polymer clay face then enhanced with this a rough coating deep blue glitter for extra interest.
The body itself is simple, hand drawn, sewn and then carefully stuffed before being painted with quality fabric paint in deep metallic blue/black and edged in Jo Sonja gold paint. A snippet of vintage sparkly orange fabric makes a cute scarf, and dimensional paint buttons with glitter makes fun 'faux' buttons and hem decoration for her coat. She stands 14.5cms/5ins high.
As with all Whskr pins, a metal brooch back is securely sewn to the reverse with 'invisible' sewing thread that blends well with the white cotton fabric. The brooch attachment also doubles as a hanger. Many of my customers have told me they love to display Whskr brooches when they are not being worn - I thought this was an awesome idea and had to share!
