Ever since I first had this story read to me as a moppet, I was always rather disillusioned at the ending and curious as to what could have happened had Goldilocks stayed at the Three Bears' cottage instead of storming out upon their arrival...So I retreated instead into a reverie for an idyllic ending that never existed, where they would all become friends and hold regular picnics in the heart of the forest...
There seems to be something utterly comforting about old classical fairytales, and most enchanting at the same time. These stories have embedded themselves into my heart, and have shaped my imagination.
I have been revisiting old fairytales for the past couple of months, and inevitably they have made their way into my work once more…
This borderless print is reproduced from a painting by me. It measures 10x8 inch., and will feel right at home in any standard 10x8 inch frame or matte.
