A colorful menagerie for "cocktail hour" or a great addition to a vintage swizzle stick collection.
Circa: late 1940s or early 1950s
Materials: hand blown glass, hand painted decoration
Size: overall length ranges from 6 1/4" to 7" depending on individual piece. Toppers range in height from 3/4" (cat) to slightly over 1 1/2" (giraffe/mystery animal with large ears)
Condition: Stick glass is intact and unbroken; the bottom of the bear's stick has a slight blowing imperfection in shape; it is slightly more bulbous than the others and has a small flattened area and a tiny bubble at the very end; mentioned for completeness. Toppers show no breakage except for the very outermost tip of one of the cat's whiskers, noticeable mainly under 10x magnification. Hand painted decorations show either no wear at all, or else extremely minimal and visible mainly under 10x magnification. What looks like a chip out of the white ears of the 'giraffe' appears to be, instead, a touch of the original paint (glass dye?) because the surface of that ear is uniformly smooth and the underlying glass is not visble in that area even under 10x magnification. Also, what appears in the last photo to be a crack in the paint on the dog's ear is only one of the light sources reflecting from the ear's convex surface; it is not cracked.
Shipping will be via well packed Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Insurance is available if desired, for an additional $1.80; please convo me so that I may adjust your invoice. I take great care in packaging breakable items and unmistakably labeling the box as Fragile, but even the best packing cannot always protect against careless handling by the postal service. So please do keep in mind that if insurance is not purchased, shipping is at the buyer's own risk for either loss or damage.
