This painting is painted on wood panel. I texture the panel with an oil surface to allow organic marks and then I order my paintings according to the Golden Mean or Golden Rectangle. This allows the work or paintings to have a sense of order or harmony. I then do a drawing and then I start to apply color. I work in a layering process and only mix my green and some grays, but mainly all my work is layered color over color allowing a more pure color to come forth. There is a luminous quality to all my paintings and it is because the light is able to go through the pure colors and hit the white surface and then come back toward the viewer.
This painting measures 34.5" x 34.5" framed with a handcrafted 22 karat gold leafed frame made also by me.
