This is a PDF pattern for Stulpin which are a European version of arm or leg warmers. A pair of Stulpin should work for either your forearms or your lower legs. I made them for one of my visitors from Germany who wanted "knee socks without feet" so that she could wear them with her regular shoes. These are modeled by me shortly before I mailed them off to her in Munich. They do work on both my forearms and my legs, even though I have working class calves.
Yarn requirement is roughly equivalent to a single sock, so about 50 grams of sock yarn or 200 yards. Needle size is 1-2. Gauge is 5 st/inch stretched, about 9 stitches unstretched. Skill level is moderate.
