How Often Does it Rain?
The general impression is that it rains quite a lot of the time in Ireland but in fact two out of three hourly observations will not report any measurable rainfall. The average number of wet days (days with more than 1mm of rain) ranges from about 150 days a year along the east and south-east coasts, to about 225 days a year in parts of the west.

[Seriously? 225/365 days isn't a lot?!]
This brooch is for cheering you up when the weather might be getting you down, it’s looks great on a coat – because let’s face it, if the weather’s getting you down, odds are you’re wearing a coat.
I gently wet felted some undyed Blue Faced Leicester wool and finished shaping it into a cute little cumulus by needle felting. I wet-felted the little raindrops using a special secret felting technique passed down among Irish people who have to put up with a lot of rain, and stitched them on with thread so they swing when you walk!
