• This bench is sturdy and designed to last for a lifetime of use. The bench's top is constructed of 1-3/4" thick aged, reclaimed wood that has been joined to form the top deck. A 3" wide skirt runs just under the bench with tapered legs protruding from the skirt at the corners. And lastly - a sturdy cross brace that connects both pairs of legs. In terms of finish ... the bench is first sanded smooth to the touch - no splinters here. Then, starting with the top - which is finished in a dark red dye stain overlaid on a deeply weathered reclaimed wood top, followed by red oak legs that have been ebonized to a grayish black, and offset by the skirt of the bench which is maple that has been ebonized to a lighter grayish black.
