The center strand holds a large art deco style glass tablet in jade green with gold hieroglyphs. Each strand is also made up of patterns with shiny black seed beads, olive green cat eyes, turquoise green cubes, and faceted topaz beads caged in loops of golden brown. Large seed beads in a light emerald accent each of the larger beads. The three strands come together at the ends and are finished with a beaded button and loop clasp in matching colors.
Dimensions: The bracelet is about 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, and 17.5 cm (6.9 inches) long, including the clasp. The central hieroglyph bead is 9 x 23 mm (0.4 x 0.9 inches). When the clasp is secured, the bracelet has an inside circumference of about 16 cm (6.3 inches). The beaded button measures 1.6 cm (0.6 inches) across.
The hieroglyph bead features several symbols, including the crook (ruler or prince), water, and a bird similar to the Egyptian symbol for red. These hieroglyph beads are made in the traditional Czech style, and are very similar to Egyptian revival beads made during the art deco period of the 1920’s.
Other materials used in this bracelet include fiber optic glass cat eyes, Czech glass fire polish beads, and Japanese glass seed beads and cubes. I weave all of my jewelry with durable fused nylon thread for lasting strength. This bracelet wraps gently around the wrist, and has lots of fun movement and texture.
This one of a kind bracelet comes wrapped in tissue, packed securely with clean, repurposed bubble wrap or foam sheet, and shipped in a durable Canada Post cushion mailer.
