PROCESS
I have cut all of the bronze detailing from solid bronze metal. The small leaf and flower are approximately 0.5 mm thick, while the large leaf is 1 mm thick. I have engraved the detailing on the leaves. After I drilled spaces in all of the pieces and the cuff, I set everything in place with rivets that I made from bronze tubing. I soldered the sterling silver bezel on to the top flower and set the beautiful agate stone in place. It has an deep burnt orange colour with some ripples of dark red running through it. I've polished all of the bronze detailing to a brushed satin finish.
I chose to rivet the design to the cuff (and not glue it) for extra security. This will become an heirloom piece that you will enjoy for a lifetime, and hand down to your children and grandchildren.
CARE
Bronze is a beautiful metal, very similar in appearance to high karat gold when it is polished. It will tarnish with normal wear, due to its reaction to sulfur in the air. You can easily care for it, by gently wiping it with a soft cloth after each time you wear it and storing it in an appropriate jewellery box. You may also use a metal jewellery polish with a soft cloth to restore the shine (be careful to avoid abrasive polishes as they will scratch the metal). With a dab of polish and a soft cloth this gorgeous cuff will still look brand new 50 years from now.
SHIPPING
I will ship this item through Canada Post; it will come wrapped in non-tarnish tissue paper inside of a sturdy kraft paper recyclable box, tied with a fabric ribbon, and will be suitable for gift giving. This will come in a bubble padded envelope for extra protection. If you would prefer a courier, please let me know in the note to seller so that I can inform you of the additional charge.
