A 10K gold fill heart locket from the Bates & Bacon company of Attleboro, MA. The locket engraved to a sweetheart, "C.G. to E.M., 12-25-40." What a sweet Christmas present! The engraving, on the back of the locket, is precise and endearing. The front of the locket has a "stitched" heart frame with a garland etched inside. The letter "E" is also engraved here inside another, smaller heart. The locket opens from the side to two compartments. Both compartments have the original picture rings and inserts. One side holds a WWII era photograph of a sailor in uniform. The locket closes securely and I've added a 14K gold fill chain. Outstanding condition.
