Made by Jane Richard and called the "Magic Brim" Hoodcharmer, the simplest way to wear the soft knit tube of wool/Orlon acrylic is as a hood. To get fancy, you slip the white wire through one end, then twist and shape to make a hat. It took me a little while to decide that the instructions meant to put the wire through the hem on one end of the tube. There are little buttonhole stitch-edged slits that have not been cut open, and it looks like the previous owner went instead through a gap in the hem.
The decoration is black paillettes with clear prong-set rhinestone centers. Love the pamphlet with the photos of fetching styles! The original tag is also with the hat, and it was bought at Spokane's late-great Crescent department store.
Condition: Very good, obviously used but with nothing much wrong. I washed the hood, and there are still a few tiny marks (upper right of last square) and a diffuse faint yellowish stain (bottom left of last square).
Size: The tube measures 13.75" x 10" laying flat. It will stretch to fit all.
