In Schenectady, New York, there is a small area known as "The Stockade." It's an historic district of 1600s-1800s homes and churches. The area was hit by severe flooding in the summer of 2011 and many of the historic homes are currently under construction and repair.
When I came across this festive wreath hanging simply from the handle of a 1700s carriage house door, I was taken by it's beauty and simplicity. Just a rustic old door and a pretty wreath of twigs and berries tied with twine. Perfect.
