Originally, this design was inspired while searching through my very first box of records. I found the Gustav Holst "Planets" album and knew right away that I had to do something with Star Wars.

The clock hands that are in the picture are different than the ones that I have now. I had to switch clock companies and now have some very nice clock mechs. The hands I currently use can be seen in just about all of my pictures now.

My Story:
My name is Tyler Garcia, I am 23 years old living in Great Falls, MT with a wife, son, and two crazy schnauzers. I will be completing my degree in Music Education this May. I started making record art in 2011, melting record bowls in my kitchen oven. I had seen some laser cut record clocks online and wanted to see if I could make them by hand. I picked up an exacto knife and a candle and went to work. It took about 6 hours to finish a piece. Eventually I found the right tools and can now cut the records with even more precision although still all done by hand. Today I have sold my clocks all across the US and Canada. I named my hobby-business NotByLaser after constantly writing that I make everything by hand and not by laser cutting. I forgot to push the space bar and ended up typing notbylaser and it just stuck. I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for supporting me, my family, small business, and the arts.
