This belt represents hours and hours (approximately 24 hours of hand sewing) of work and love, by the hands of both my mother, Marsie Danielson, and I (it's a generational artwork piece) - from the needlework to the collecting of vintage treasures to the studs. The theme of this piece is black with an iridescent sheen on everything, that tends toward the deepest peacock teal. Please remember that the belt is slightly too large for me, so the metal rings will be separated, not together as shown, and it will sit perfectly on the hips, not at an angle like it does on me in the photo of the front. Fabulous chrysanthemum applique medallions with gorgeous little beaded fringe for each hip, vintage dyed lace medallions dotted with sparkling beads, two round vintage rhinestone pins at the front, lace that shimmers with iridescent sequins, fabulous iridescent black-teal flower medallions at the back, black fringe layered with gold teardrop dangles to REALLY shimmy with you, two African brass hoops, kuchi buttons dotted throughout. There are really too many treasures on this piece to list. It's priceless.

This piece fits hips at least 38 1/2 inches and up - (please measure before you purchase), and has metal rings at the sides that you simply tie together. This makes it adjustable if you lose or gain weight, or if a troupe mate needs to borrow it! It was too big for me, so I pinned it in the front - but it will have two metal rings, not one, when worn by someone who fits it correctly. Looks fabulous is you use long scarves to do this, but you can even use a little strip of black t-shirt material - it won't slip! (That's my fave way to do it.) The piece is curved to fit the way a woman is shaped - no bagging open in the back! Dry clean only.
