Library Lizard - leather mask

Perhaps I've spent too long with my nose stuck in a book, but I rather enjoyed making this delightful fantasy mask. Reminiscent of the works of Arcimboldo this book comes to life in a rather lizardesque face. The bookmarks flickers a forked tongue to mark with relish the subject matter taunting viewers to read more. Above his brow he flails flirtatiously his unread pages. Indeed he is a delight for the eyes. He is rendered out of fine grain leather so he is light weight and comfortable to wear. His pages and tongue have been molded out of separate pieces to add to the three dimensional quality that I strive for in my work. These pieces were then carefully hand painted with artists quality acrylics. This books displays hues of brown, olive, and rustic reds, his spine ridges are streaked with gold and his pages are tinged ever so slightly with brown to give them an aged quality.
