With this set, I can make it with the dark oxidation as you see in the photos. Or I can leave the oxidation off and make it copper and silver in color. If you want this set without the dark oxidation simply say "no oxidation" In the "note to seller" at the time of purchase.
Tips on sizing:
For accurate sizing, I highly recommend you have your finger sized by two reputable jewelers in your area. If the ring you are interested in is 7mm wide or wider, have the jeweler use a 'wide band' ring sizer, and let them know what width you are interested in. If resizing is needed, I can resize for you for a 30 dollar resizing fee.
Time Frame:
Please allow me 6-8 weeks to handcraft your ring order during the months of October – April. However, as wedding season picks up, please allow me 10-12 weeks to handcraft your ring order during the months of May – September. Also, free to Convo me if you need your ring order faster, as rush order service may be possible, although a fee will apply.
I personally make these rings 100% from scratch, and no casting or mass producing is involved. For any ring that has darker oxidation on it, please note that oxidation levels and texture markings may vary from one ring to the next since it is handmade. Your ring will be 100% unique! :-)
More about this set of rings:
These handcrafted wedding bands are made of .999 fine silver and real copper. The outer portion (part that touches your finger and wraps around) is made of fine silver. The inner portion is made of copper since copper is a harder metal than fine silver (it makes the ring very strong and ensures the shape of the ring always remains intact). These rings are standard fit.
I hammered these rings to make them look more organic which gives them a lot more of that rustic and raw character. Each ring was then oxidized, sanded and polished to give that antiqued look. As the oxidation wears the shiny silver will show through in parts and become even more antique looking. I also treat the copper portion of the ring with a high-quality antiquing wax, in order to keep the original look of the ring for a longer period of time. This also keeps the copper from oxidizing to a more brown shade as quickly. Pictures do not do this ring justice :-)
Copper is the traditional metal that is associated with celebrating the seventh year of marriage. Copper jewelry can be given to a spouse as an anniversary gift.
Added note about silver: The difference between "fine" silver and "sterling" silver is that fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. Sterling is only 92.5% silver with the remaining 7.5% being composed of other metals, usually copper. They look the same, wear & polish the same, but fine silver is more "pure" and is, therefore, more costly and often considered more desirable than sterling.
