Sea Turtles Handcrafted in Fine Silver. A pair of sea turtles nestled together on a handmade silver pendant. The sea turtle pendant is suspended on a handmade chocolate brown leather cord that is 19" (48cm) in length. After kiln firing and tumble polishing the sea turtle pendant, I applied a patina to highlight the turtles. The patina is aqua and blue-green in shade. The patina will darken over time and add character and further dimension to the pendant. The silver this pendant is made of is silver clay and is .999FS, versus sterling which is .925. On the back of the pendant you will see my maker's mark and the silver quality designation of .999FS. This assures to you that this sea turtle pendant has been handcrafted and is of the highest grade silver available.

The inspiration for this pendant came from my own environment, Dauphin Island, a small barrier Island in the Gulf of Mexico. This year our sea turtles returned and laid eggs. The eggs have since hatched and the baby sea turtles made their way back to sea. This was cause of great celebration for us due to the horrible events of the oil spill by BP last year. Our sea turtles were removed and taken to south Florida for protection. We are very happy they are back and reproducing!
