The medicine bags or pouches have had a long history in the healing arts.
Slip in the gem stones, minerals or herbs that suit your unique constitution and as you wear it around your neck let it hang by your heart and stomach (stomach is the catalyst for life) to heal and rejuvenate.

This medicine bag honors the power of FEATHER, a symbol of freedom and lightness.
The feather charm was made by me and measures about 1 1/8" x 3" (2.8cm x 7.5cm).
I use only high quality clay and acrylic paints. The pendant is sealed in satin glaze with cracked patina for protection and antique appearance.
I wrote on the back 'FEATHER GIVES YOU WINGS' which is my favorite motto.
The feather charm is suspended on a beaded cotton cord. All the beads are made of wood. The charm is attached to the base of the bag (not the pocket flap) for your convenience.
The wild prairie horse with the fresh breeze in its mane has an orange patina and was glued to the pocket flap. It's just another expression of FREEDOM.

The base of the bag is a denim pocket I cut out of brand new jeans. I saw the jeans in the store, and the moment I spotted the pocket a new idea of a medicine bag hatched in my mind.

I trimmed all the sides of the bag with a brown dyed cotton mending thread and coupled it with the genuine suede leather cord in natural tone.
The bag is backed with a layer of sandstone felt that holds the faux leather fringe at the bottom.
The top layer is a yellow cotton fabric.
All is hand embroidered together.

* The folklorish Peruvian ceramic beads,
* carved bone tube beads,
* lots of lightly dyed wooden beads in faded olive green shade,
* a bunch of brown metallic glass seed beads,
* and feather charms (I collect feathers from nature as sent gifts from mother earth; and I properly wash them)
make this medicine bag only one in the entire Universe.

This bag measures 4" across X 6" long.
The bottom fringe adds 2.5" to the length.
The beaded necklace is 29" + 4" width of the bag.
My hand painted GP logo tag is hand stitched on the back side.

The bag comes with a handful of mixed gemstone chips in a silk bag. viz. last photo.

One of a kind and won't repeat.

Designed and hand crafted by Gabriela Pomplova
Note:
This medicine bag is also listed under jewelry/necklaces and it's the same bag
(there are no alike) I just wanted to listed it under bags/purses and jewelry/necklaces at the same time to reach a broader audience. Thank you for understanding.
