THE NOVA SCARF is part of a curated series of hand-dyed scarves for both men & women - a lightweight right-handed twill acts as the perfect recipient for the deep blue indigo pigment.
I dye and sew each piece by hand in my sunny Los Angeles studio where every item emerges from the dye vat as a unique work of art.
This piece is hand-dyed with a deep rich natural indigo pigment, derived from the leaves of the Indigofera Tinctoria plant. The edges are turn-finished with an indigo blue thread. The last photograph of this item is of my 10 piece collection that explores patterns that incorporate both traditional & experimental Japanese shibori techniques. As is the nature of shibori, no two pieces are ever the same. Even when dyed in the same manner, side by side, each will have their own individual character. Your scarf is guaranteed one-of-a-kind!
EACH PIECE tells the story of its own creation. These designs are meant to breathe the fire of our contemporary moment into traditional forms and techniques.
MY WORK reflects my belief that the things we surround ourselves with should
radiate with their own vibrancy, cause us to be curious and ask questions of their origin.
IF YOU DON'T SEE a listing for the piece that you are interested in from the collection, there may be none in stock, but I am still able to create more. Just let me know and I can create a custom order for you.
