This pattern and variations of it are so well known in the Stickley Brothers and William Morris era, a pattern often repeated throughout the furniture, linens and china including the wallpaper of aforementioned William Morris. The period linens and the china are the most difficult to find, as they were most easily damaged so few survived.
Rarely do you find these period plates and also in such excellent condition. It is signed by the painter, Lulu R. Lilly and marked Haviland France.
No chips, No cracks, No fading, very protected, very minimal signs of use. Measures 9 1/2" diameter.
The colors are rich and bold. It would look stunning in an Arts & Crafts Bungalow on a wall plate rack as well as used for chocolates! A very rare find of the finest porcelain to add to an Arts & Crafts collection. I like to think of how beautiful things should be used in their homes, so I see this with chocolates centered so the design shows on the border~! Of course tea cakes or any other goodie would be just as divine~!
