The perfect solution for instant décor in your library or study. These botanical prints offer interest and intrigue to any room. This listing is for eight prints—NOT exactly the ones you are viewing because they are also sold separately. So if you are interested, let me know and I’ll create a reserved listing so you know exactly what you are purchasing.
I create these gelatin monotypes by using pressed plants to obtain botanical silhouettes and plant details on vintage dictionary paper (the silhouette) and rice paper (plant details).
Each page is 11 x 17 inches.
And pairs frame up nicely together in affordable 18 x 24 frames.
Typically $108 for a pair, I am offering this set of 8 for $345.
The process is called gelatin monoprinting. I cooked up a batch of concentrated gelatin, yes “jello” (convoy me if you want the recipe and directions). Once the slab sets you ink it up like any other printing plate and you can take paint away with a brush or block the ink with a stencil (in this case a pressed leaf) for the botanical delight).
Here's a blog some friends and I posted on the process: http://4alchemists.wordpress.com/
