This original art doll was made with my own non-commercial pattern. She's one of a kind and made of cloth with both machine and hand stitching. This is the more fancy style of mermaid dolls that I make - I consider this to be a 'fashionista' mermaid.
She's hand painted with acrylics and has a spritz of UV resistant matte sealant for protection.
Her long honey blond curls are made of mohair blend yarn that's sewn and glued to her head. On top of her head she wears a sewn-on golden tiara. At her neck, she wears a choker of bezel set rhinestones.
Her bottom half and top are made of iridescent dupioni silk in a turquoise and gold thread blend that gives it the look of blue green or light turquoise depending on the light.
She had gold metallic ric rac trim on the bottom and sides of her tail. At her waist and the base of her tail she wears rich red marabou and Victorian style gold metallic dangle beads. I've also accented her waistband with a handmade 'flower' of matching silk that has an antique luster button center.
She's stuffed with premium polyfil and her clothes are sewn to her body.
Her moveable arms are button jointed using vintage white 'cake' buttons.
You may display this charming mermaid by hanging her from the cord sewn in her head or stand her in a doll stand.
She's 13" tall and is signed and dated.
