The bodice has been cut with the tucks going towards the center to create the illusion of a smaller waist. A china silk "scarf" creates elegance and is fastened to itself on the left side. The bodice waist ties from the inside are sticking out at the bottom. This is the stamp that is in the inner bodice belt. The Manufacturer's label is on the inside belt "Howard, Defiance, Ohio". Good study piece. The sleeves have the same pin tucking as the bodice body. This bodice has seen better days. The black lace inset on the bodice and around the neck at the collar is torn and deteriorating quickly due to how fragile the lace is.
