The Tree of Life is a concept that's been featured in myth, story and legend literally all around the world. Since ancient times, people have used variations on the theme. Connecting all things - the realms of the spirit, the physical, the Divine and the mundane - the roots of the Tree and the branches touch all things and bring them together in harmony.
This pendant is handmade using painstaking wire-wrapping techniques. Hand hammered sterling silver plated wire frames and encircles the pendant, and then sterling silver plated, non-tarnish wire is used as the roots, trunk and branches of the tree.
I use beautiful, fat, faceted Apatite rondelles in this piece. The Apatite is a gorgeous Caribbean blue, like the most perfect sea. It has a little bit of rainbow iridescence to it as well, almost like a little bit of a mystic coating, but it's all the beautiful stone.
Apatite isn't very well known as a gemstone and is made up of phosphate minerals. The name, 'apatite' has been taken from a Greek word 'apate,' which mean to deceive. It is so named because one can be easily get confused with variety of other stones like tourmaline, peridot and beryl. Apatite is an inspirational stone. It develops psychic abilities and spiritual attunement. Use it to aid communication and self-expression.

This color is so beautiful, it would make a nice alternative for March birthstone of Aquamarine which is very expensive. It would also be a good December substitute for Blue Zircon. No matter what reason, however, it's just gorgeous!
