Very unique, rare outstanding vintage 1920s flapper Art Deco necklace in yellow galalith with coral celluloid beads! The large carved flower shape pendant has a center silver plate buddha figure with a coral celluloid and long drop below. Long yellow galalith square shaped links from the chain with coral celluloid beads connecting the pendant. This is the perfect long flapper necklace that won't go unnoticed!

Galalith is a synthetic plastic material manufactured by the interaction of casein (milk protein) and formaldehyde. The fashion industry during the early 20th century found this to be a wonderful alternative to the more expensive horn, ivory and bone products. This new plastic was presented at Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900.

Measurements: 27" with the pendant and drop adding an additional 4 7/8"
Circa: 1920
Condition: Very good with no chips or nicks to the galalith ...very well cared for!
