Ocean Quartet is a continuos strip of handmade paper divided into 4 panels. In the first two panels of the Ocean Quartet, two mermaids play in the water, the one holding up a shell. There are fish swimming around them. In the third panel is a man rowing a boat and in the final panel there is a surfer with a baby puffer fish in the water under the board. The Ocean Quartet is created on handmade paper using oil pastels, pencil and silver ink.

Discovering the arts is an adventure for me. I experiment with a variety of styles and media using collage, canvas, paper, cardboard, fabric, paint and found objects. I enjoy drawing and painting using oil paint, acrylics, pencil, ink, oil pastels, watercolour and of course my very favourite; pencil crayons.

My works visual effect aims to inspire the viewer with the wonder of Nature I feel. Fantasy and surrealism are the main themes of my artworks. Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte strongly influenced me. Many South African artists, especially Norman Katherine and Walter Batiss inspire me. I am especially grateful to my many teachers, including John Skotnes and Margery Bradfield-Smith.

I love using mandalas and traditional patterns in my artwork. I have a passion for quartets, recycling and upcycling. You can purchase this drawing easily. All artworks are sent by insured mail.
