This nest of five stacked boxes is made from aluminium and estimates from the 1920s. It comes from Provence, near Cannes and was used to preserve perishable foodstuffs such as flour, sugar, salt, coffee etc… Nothing is written on the boxes.
The color of the set is gold/bronze.
Size of largest canister with its lid on:
Diameter: 13 cm (5.1 inches)
Height: 16 cm (6.2 inches)
Size of smallest canister with its lid on:
Diameter: 8 cm (3.1 inches)
Height: 13.5 cm (5.3 inches)
Condition: They are in very medium condition, with marks, dents and scratches on the exterior, interior and bottom of the canisters and the lid. (see photos)
ATTENTION: The lid of the biggest canister is not closing very well.
There is some tiny tiny hole in the bottom of the smallest canister.
There is some silver marks on the smallest one.
As you can see on the last photos all the canisters doenst' fit in one very well.
All canisters are empty.
This canister would make a very attractive present or would be very nice to decorate your kitchen. It is a very beautiful French souvenir.
