Wonderful and hard to find addition to your or someone you know collection of Currier and Ives China. manufactured by Royal China from 1950 - 1970, the dinner ware was often a promotional item available at deep discounts at local grocery chain stores of the era such as A&P. I remember taking my grandmother shopping at the local A&P when they had "Box Boys" that would bring your groceries out and load them in the car for you. At that time it was a great after school /weekend job for boys in High School because often they were tipped for their service. The casserole dish was an add on to the dinnerware plates that you could purchase to complete your set. The Covered dish is done in a pattern called Turn Outs in Central Park and features a driver seated in the front of a buggy driving a very fashionable 1800's lady around the park. Lid feature a man and woman astride 2 horses taking a leisurely walk around the park and the knob has a scene of those same man and woman sitting next to each other on a wooden park bench. Casserole dish measures 11" handle to handle and is 7.75 " in diameter. It is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks , chips, crazing or wear to pattern.
