I spun this approximately heavy DK weight wool on my Kromski Minstrel, which is a castle-style wheel that I bought about ten years ago. I initially learned to spin on a drop spindle, which I decided immediately was called such because of my ability to drop it about every ten seconds. I did not enjoy the spindle, but could tell I was going to fall in love with spinning - ten years and two wheels later (I also have a Kromski Sonata, which folds up and goes into a backpack)... here we are.

As I said, this yarn is approximately DK; I am not an even spinner so while not flat-out slubby, some parts are thicker than others (the beauty of handspun is that it's not always even like commercial yarn, making it more unique). This is not Superwash wool and it will felt in hot water. This skein is approximately 130 yards. With 130 yards you could make a small hat, or a pair of wristwarmers; or incorporate this handspun in with a larger project made from commercially spun yarn of the same weight.

This yarn was spun in a smoke-free, but not pet-free home; however, once spun it is kept in a bin which cats and dogs do not have access to.
