This small bag (approx. 4.25" x 7.25") was wet felted and put together from several different componants. The front is black Shetland fleece and red wool roving on Merino-Corriedale batting with some needle-felted layers and some embroidered elements. It features a small pocket on the front of black Hungarian Racka and red wool roving on Merino-Corriedale batting, with a small red ceramic bead focal. The back is black Hebridean fleece (dark brown) on Merino-Corriedale batting with a center of Black Welsh Mountain fleece that is really, really black. The whole effect is of fire and scorching, reminiscent of a volcanic event. The long waxed cord is four-strand braided, topped with a felt bead.
I am a fiber artist and each of my bags are a small work of art. Many, this one included, should be thought of as small baskets, for hanging on the wall to hold utensils and tools. However, it could also be worn around the neck
