Jasper, Moonstone, and Glass Necklace
Hooray! Our Solar System Jewelry series has been featured by The Planetary Society, MAKE: NASA, and NPR's Science Friday!
1 bead = ~100,000 kilometers (~62,000 miles).
Get ready for some hot, stormy weather - we're off to Jupiter!
Jupiter and its nearest Moons shine and sparkle in a wearable homage to this wild and turbulent planet.
Metia, Adrastea, Amalthea, Thebe, Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto are placed on the necklace according to their proportional distance from Jupiter: each "space" bead represents approximately 100,000 kilometers (~62,000 miles).*
Jupiter's stormy beauty is depicted in intricate Picture Jasper in brown, red, and gold hues, surrounded by Moons of shiny glass, and ethereal pink and lavendar Moonstone.
A great conversation starter, and a reminder of where we are in the Universe!
This version of our Moons of Jupiter Necklace features large black Czech glass beads,
and works out well as a womens' or mens' necklace.
Jupiter = Jasper
Metia, Adrastea, Amalthea, Thebe = Opalescent Glass
Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto = Moonstone (white, lavendar, and pink)
