vintage Art Deco necklace / 1930s jewelry / NORTH STAR

An Art Deco collar necklace set with icy blue glass stones. The necklace has a delicate link chain on the upper portion once plated in silver but fading to the original brass, especially on one side. The chain descends to a sequence of cast filigree and glass links, starting with two oval-cut stones bezel set in a garland of filigree. A long link leads to the next pair of decorative links, this time square-cut stones bezel set below a triple-arched, openwork finding. Two more links lead to the base of the necklace, which repeats the oval cut stone and setting from further up the chain. All the stones are beautifully faceted and set with open backs. The necklace is stunning despite some wear to the silvertone finish. Secures with a spring ring clasp.
