These pants come to you from Portland, Oregon the home of the Jantzen brand and the collection of Bette Davis Norman, whose 1960s-1970s wardrobe I recently acquired. Her husband along with his father (both of Kenton Machine Works) built the well known Paul Bunyan statue in the Kenton neighborhood of North Portland in 1959 to celebrate Oregon's centennial.
Labeled Jantzen Made in USA (with red diving girl) Lipman's Caliente Shop
Lipman's was a local shop in Portland, Oregon and the Caliente Shop specialized in casual and sportswear. My Mother purchased the furry mohair sweater seen in the first photo at the Caliente Shop in the early 1960s. Just another historical window into a lovely old Portland shop.
