I used a variation of the herringbone weave technique to create this piece, adding the ladder of black and white beads gradually. The tapered ends are finished with a matching beaded button and loop clasp. A combination of transparent brown seed beads, with mauve lined topaz gives this bracelet a natural, leathery look, which contrasts beautifully with the black and white stripes.
Dimensions: The bracelet is 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) wide, and 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) long, including the clasp. When the clasp is secured, the bracelet has an inside circumference of about 15 cm (5.9 inches). The beaded button measures 1.6 cm (0.6 inches) across.
Materials used in this bracelet include high quality Japanese glass seed beads, and a Czech pressed glass druk bead. I weave all of my jewelry with durable fused nylon thread, which provides lasting strength and consistent beadwork shapes. The small design and open beadwork gives this bracelet a lot of flexibility. It would look great layered with other bracelets in hemp, chain or leather.
This one of a kind design comes wrapped in tissue, packed securely with clean, repurposed bubble wrap or foam sheet, and shipped in a durable Canada Post cushion mailer.
