All of my MechOwlies have very pronounced details, such as big round eyes, lil' beak, tucked-back wings, and little itty bitty details that make each one special! They are very unique creatures, and none of them are exactly the same.
They look like metal, don't they? Actually, the entire thing is handsculpted from polymer clay and finished with mica powders for an awesome metallic effect. Every little detail is done by hand, such as the many rivets and panels that you see. He can have coloured eyes, gears and watch innards, wind-up watch mechanisms, touches of gold and silver, and all sorts of other details as well.
To give you a summary of the birds I have created so far, the first bird (first photo) was named Archimedes. He was olive green with antique brass details and touches of gold created by gears around the eyes. He also has a date wheel bib and pretty brass chain delicately hanging in the front. The second bird (second photo) is named Bubo - he is silver and gold with bright red eyes, and is based off of Bubo from the Clash of the Titans. The third bird (third photo) is named Hedwig, and based off of the snow owl of the same name from Harry Potter. He is pearl and bright silver in colour, has bright white-silver details, and even has some black feathering details. The fourth bird (fourth photo) is named Cerulean and has a frosty blue theme.

Keep in mind, I can not do exact replicas when it comes to my birdies and owlies, however I can create a similar design if you wish.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN ORDERING A CUSTOM MECHOWLIE:
♥ Give me your colours! Do you prefer the worn steel/silver look or the antiqued brass look? Both look beautiful! I have all sorts of metallic colours - almost anything that you can think of. I've had people ask for silver, gold, brass, blue, copper and even a "mica rock" colour with that beautiful rainbow oil-spill look.
♥ Give me your preferences! List any likes or dislikes you have when it comes to the components I add to the birdies. Generally all I need are the colours, and I will create you something unique, but if you have any little details that you want to see included, don't hesitate to let me know! Examples are: I'd like him to have gears on his back, a wind-up watch mechanism, bright gold highlights. Etc etc...

These birdies are extremely detailed, take a lot of love and labour, and are adorned with all sorts of findings! Each one has been glazed to keep them safe.
As soon as you and I have a colour/design figured out, it may take up to two weeks or so to create depending on how many other orders I have at the time. After your owlie has been created, I will send you pictures via Etsy Conversation or E-mail. After you have approved the design, it will be shipped. :)
♥ MEASUREMENTS & MATERIALS ♥
This piece is about 2 1/2" tall and made from polymer clay and various metal findings and watch parts. It is a freestanding sculpture / figurine.

Please know that this piece is made to order, and so it will take 2 weeks or less to create it. It is a custom one of a kind item, so even though I can replicate designs, I do not replicate them down to the last detail - each piece is unique and handcrafted, so you can see why an exact replication is impossible. :)
♥ PACKAGING & SHIPPING ♥
Because this is a larger item, it will be shipped in a cardboard box and the necessary padding to keep it safe in transit. For those in the U.S. and Canada, this item will automatically be shipped via Expedited Parcel, meaning that you will receive it in half the time as Small Packet Air Mail. It will also come with a tracking number. I combine shipping, so if you order anything else from my shop along with this item, there will be no extra shipping cost to you.

Shipping tends to vary greatly depending on what city/town you live in - especially in Canada. Shipping tends to range from $7.00 - $17.00 for Canadians, and $18.00 - $22.00 for International residents. As a result, I list the highest shipping price for Canadian and International orders. When I receive your order, I will send you a message letting you know what the actual price is to ship to your specific address, and I will promptly refund you the difference.
