this is a crochet PATTERN only, so that you can make your own wingfeathers shawl!
***pattern UPDATED 12/6/19!***
the new improved pattern now includes stitch counts at the end of each row so you can ensure that you are on track, as well as a chart which for many is easier to follow, as it visually represents the stitches and their layout.
simplicity is a beautiful thing, and this beginner-friendly pattern will highlight any gorgeous solid or multi-colored yarn. both the grey and the multi red/turquoise samples above were made with one skein of sock yarn (approximately 400 yards), but honestly, any size yarn will work! the shawl is worked from the top/center down, so you can stop whenever you like (or run out of yarn). my samples are mini-shawls, perfect for wrapping around your neck as a scarf. double the yardage for a traditional larger shawl.
what yarn did i use? why, so glad you asked! the large pink/brown/plum one is Jill Draper's Rifton, one skein. for the grey shawl i used merino/cashmere kettle-dyed sock yarn by Jill Draper Makes Stuff (comes in hand-painted multis too!) and for the slowly-shifting multicolored sample i used Noro Kureyon Sock.
