Set of 1960's Bennington Potters figural salt & peppers. Designed by renowned studio and production potter David Gil.
Slightly alien and sculptural in form, they stand 4 3/4" tall plus their corks, and are 2 1/2" at the base. "Mr. Salt" and "Mrs. Pepper" in free form script on the top. Salt and pepper shook out through the eye holes.
In good vintage shape. No chips or cracks and with original corks. The unglazed strips have a bit of wear. Mrs. Pepper has a bit of glaze schmutz on the back of her head. Not sure if they were ever used, no remnants of salt or pepper at all.
Quite the modernist pair.
