I used freeform crochet and knitting to make this cozy. The material is mostly wool, mostly hand dyed and handspun. Now and then other materials find their way in - alpaca, silk, and sometimes a bit of synthetic, but I'd say each cozy is at least 98% wool. The hand dyed, handspun yarn has such fantastic texture, and freeforming is a method for making yet more texture. I find I look and look at a freeform piece and always find a little interesting bit I didn't notice before.
Each cozy has a slot for the handle and an opening for the spout. It's made to fit an average 6-8 cup teapot (it's pictured on my classic Brown Betty pot and it fits a little loosely).
