Ooooh la la. You are viewing a superb and classic piece of Mid Century Modern Italian ceramic art. This bird is over 50 years old and is NOT A REPRODUCTION. The bird was designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi and is featured here in stoneware with spot glaze decoration mounted on black steel rods + base. The bird is in remarkable & excellent condition, the minor nip to the beak is part of original production as there is a similar nip at the tail, which has been glazed over. To find a Londi bird in this condition is amazing as they are susceptible to damage. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs, aside from minor wear around the leg holes. The glaze is super bright and shiny. There is a very old 'Rosenthal Netter' label (the distributor) still affixed under the base. Hand numbered 275 / 16, which could indicate that this bird was limited to 275 - with many fewer surviving today. This bird appears to be the shape of the orange one, yet glazed like the one on the far left of the grouping.
