As with all my soaps, this is more than 50% olive oil. I add some coconut oil to harden the soap and help give it a bubbly lather. Sweet almond oil also helps with the lather, making it more stable, not so quick to fade away. I also added some rice bran oil, which keeps the soap mild and conditioning, and gives it a bit of a sheen. And avocado oil, a skin loving oil, as mild and conditioning as olive oil.
The bottom layer is colored with French green clay and a touch of green oxide. After pouring the green layer into the mold, I sprinkled green clay all over the top. This is what makes the darker line in the middle. Then I carefully poured the top layer, trying not to disturb the sprinkled clay. And then swirled a tiny bit of the green soap along the top.
This soap was made, like all my soaps, using the cold process method. I used lye, just like grandma used to. But make no mistake, this is no harsh soap to only use for laundry! No siree! My soaps are MORE than mild enough to use on face and body!
Each bar is a hefty 5oz.
The edges of the bars are currently unbeveled, but if you would like them beveled, just drop a note in the customer comments when ordering.
