Sorry, this item sold. You may also like:
It remains in exceptional condition, having been stored well.
The cut is Tux-like, longer length, with double button closure with cord extension (see close-up).
The left lapel has a boutonniere, and on same side a welted breast pocket for silk hankie.
There are no holes or stains. It looks like a tailor-made piece, having no label.
Definitely not off-the-rack!
The lining is clean, without issue. I found a well inserted small "patch" on left side, you can vaguely see in image. I couln't figure that out until I inspected the pocket that's on outside. Each of the beautiful bound hip pockets have 3 darts that extend from lower part of pocket. This is because pockets cut across two fitted darts and the princess seam.
The left pocket (side with lining patch) has two additional darts, at each edge. I can't figure the reason, and it doesn't effect the look or nice, flush fit.
Back also has princess seams.
Three original buttons on each sleeve.
The lining feels like a nice silk. Not that flimsy stuff; a little heavier weight.
I'm passing on this beauty with a heavy heart, as it'll never fit me right. When it did fit better I weighed between 110-115 pounds. I'm 5'5" tall.
Even then, the sleeves were a tad short on me, so I'd say it's be best for somebody a little shorter. You decide.
Measurements, as best taken:
*14 1/2"..........shoulder to shoulder
*20".................across front, 1" down from underarm seam
*17".................across back, underarm, side seam to side seam
*30".................waist, 1 1/2" of that is cord extension.
*27 1/4"..........center back to hem
*19".................across bottom, laid flat, with space between front edges (extension)
*8 1/4".............sleeve opening circumference
For one image, I used a vintage net Vestee with sequins. It is NOT included in this sale. I may decide to sell it, though, in the near future.
This is an amazing, classic 40's jacket, looking for the right girl to wear it!
Estimates based on rate to opposite coast. Item dictates how I ship. I ship USPS First Class,
Priority, Parcel Post, and I use FedEx for best rate over 4 lbs which includes insurance. USPS rates have Delivery Confirmation added into rate. I try to keep costs down but must include my cost of any packing materials needed to properly package item. Some large items require a purchased carton, also added in. If my estimate is much higher after covering shipping and my expenses, and perhaps a tiny handling fee, I will gladly send a partial refund back via PayPal. Currently, I am only selling to the U.S.A.
