This pair of textile cuff bracelets are felted with fluffy fine merino wool and silk fibers. They are a cross between wrist warmers and bracelets. I was inspired to make these cuffs because I always seem to have cold hands, and a bit of extra warmth at my wrists helps solve this problem without encumbering my fingertips. You can wear them in both directions so either the purple end or the cranberry end will stick out from under your sleeves. As anybody who has tried to photograph purple knows, purple can be very camera shy. As such, these are a little more purple and a little less blue than the photos show.
The combination of needle felting and vigorous wet felting permanently binds the fibers together, making them much more durable than needle felting alone can ever do. If you enjoy embroidering with thread or beads, then you will find these a dream to stitch, because the fabric is thick and very easy to needle.
The colors range from several shades of purple and cranberry and a touch of blue silk, with a thick outline in black. The fibers include mostly merino and fine merino, with maybe a touch of other types of wool to add more variation in color. There's also quite a bit of silk in there, and just a touch of angelina sparkle fiber with purple and blue flashes. I set two oxidized black snaps on each cuff with my professional quality snap setter. Each piece is a unique exploration in color and texture. I love the way they are both fancy and cozy.
One of them is signed with my custom woven fabric tag.
They are hand washable, block to dry; Since they are wet felted, I already pre-washed them.
